We landed in Hillsboro because of an Air B&B. Hillsboro was never our intended destination, but the lure of a hot tub in the middle of Wine country near by where we were intending to spend the weekend was too much of a draw for us!
If you have time to spend, and would like to see a bit of the Oregon countryside, let me recommend this sweet spot in Hillsboro. The proprietors of the property were not home when we visited, but the wonderful care-taker Sheila was fantastic.

Yep, that's Sheila... a sweet orange tabby who makes you feel welcome!
We spent some time in the Hot Tub, but it was pitch black out, so we couldn't see the view... in retrospect, we might have skipped the trip to the local winery (that was closed) to get to our space earlier. The drive would have been gorgeous, and a bit less spooky with some daylight!
We wrapped our iPad in a ZipLoc bag, and watched Halloweentown to get ourselves in the mood for the following day!

We were pleasantly surprised to wake to such an amazing view of the Hillsboro Wine country valley. Thank you Susan (and Sheila) for such a wonderful visit. We'd definitely recommend this space, or another Air B&B ... stay tuned to our other accommodations... which Liz will never let me live down.

After spending some time on Saturday morning exploring our Air B&B in the daylight, we ended up making our way to a local coffee shop in Hillsboro before driving out to Helvetia and Roloff Farms. I'd definitely recommend Insomnia Coffee Shop if you're in the area. The place was busy and full of smiling coffee drinkers. Liz and I do nothing if we don't have a Pumpkin Spice Latte in hand during this season!
Sadly, we will miss the In-Zombie-a event which is on the 28th of October... but wow for the coffee and pastry options!
This is about all we saw of Hillsboro - coffee and a beautiful view... what more does one need?
